Abortion Services

The day of your appointment you will have a urine pregnancy test.

You will fill out a confidential medical form. We will go over a consent form and review you options and concerns.

You will have a blood test to check for anemia and RH factor typing. If you know your blood type and have a blood donor card, bring it with you.

You will have an exam and ultrasound to check the length of the pregnancy

ABORTION PROCEDURE

The abortion is done with sedation and anesthesia.

First, vaginal medication is used to start a natural dilation of the cervix. Then, the process is completed with the suction aspiration method, in a few minutes.

We use ultrasound to make sure it is completely done. You will be able to go home within the hour.

We will give you antibiotics and pain killers to take home. You will return in two weeks for a follow up exam.

ABORTION BY PILL (RU 486)

(up-to 9 weeks)

This method requires no anesthesia or surgery.

The pill has been used by millions of women world wide by over 20 years.

The Pill (mifepristone-RU486) is medication that blocks the progesterone receptors in the uterus causing the abortion. Misoprostol is a prostaglandin analog that expels the pregnancy.

We will give the pill and all other medications that you will need at home, including antibiotics and pain killers.

You will return into the office for a follow up exam as well.
